The plastic formability and the micro-structural features (homogeneity, grain size distribution, crystallographic textures) of HSLA hot rolled strips produced in a modern, state-of-the-art endless casting-rolling line have been studied after the realization of specific experimental trials performed on the advanced ESP industrial plant working at Arvedi Steel Technology. The analysis has pointed out interesting and outstanding mechanical features related to the thermo-mechanical process undergone by the hot rolled steel strips. In addition to that, the FLD (Forming Limit Diagram) of the strips has been measured for a better characterization of the plastic formability. The results have clearly shown the capability of the endless process of producing strips with the same micro-structural features, and thus mechanical properties and formability, of the strips produced by conventional rolling processes. Furthermore, the endless process turns out to be more economically efficient and it grants a stricter control over the process parameters, which are crucial for the metallurgical phenomena affecting in particular the HSLA steels.

Abstract
Furthermore, the endless process turns out to be more economically efficient and it grants a stricter control over the process parameters, which are crucial for the metallurgical phenomena affecting in particular the HSLA steels.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
