The aim of this thesis is to invistigate some genetic algorithms such as Differential Evolution, Particle Swarm and Self Adaptive Differential Evolution, analyzing their ability in solving the calibration problem. Different financial market models are considered: the Heston model, the Merton-Jump-Diffusion and the Variance Gamma Lévy processes. The first part of the thesis deals with the study of the characteristic parameters of the considered algorithms. Then, the thesis studies the calibration problem, considering both the ability of each algorithm to find the hidden parameters of each pricing model, as well as the ability to obtain correct prices on real market data.

Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to invistigate some genetic algorithms such as Differential Evolution, Particle Swarm and Self Adaptive Differential Evolution, analyzing their ability in solving the calibration problem. Different financial market models are considered: the Heston model, the Merton-Jump-Diffusion and the Variance Gamma Lévy processes. The first part of the thesis deals with the study of the characteristic parameters of the considered algorithms. Then, the thesis studies the calibration problem, considering both the ability of each algorithm to find the hidden parameters of each pricing model, as well as the ability to obtain correct prices on real market data.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
