Computer networks play a central role in daily activities, starting from the business sector; so their optimization is a primary goal. This thesis focuses on the modeling and prediction of traffic and CPU load signals of a network device. We characterize these signals using different models; studying the relationship between them and performing predictions for different time horizons. Possible applications of this study are actievities such as capacity planning, load balancing in server farms and attack detection.

Abstract
Computer networks play a central role in daily activities, starting from the business sector; so their optimization is a primary goal. This thesis focuses on the modeling and prediction of traffic and CPU load signals of a network device. We characterize these signals using different models; studying the relationship between them and performing predictions for different time horizons. Possible applications of this study are actievities such as capacity planning, load balancing in server farms and attack detection.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
