The research investigates the cultural spaces of remembrance, that is the places where collective memory dwells, related to some dramas of the twentieth century in Europe – from the end to the First World War to the Balkans conflict. Through a typological analysis of the main forms of commemoration – monuments, memorials and museums of memory – the thesis aims to identify new forms of communication and storytelling that go beyond the simple act of remembrance. These places of memory, present both in urban contexts and in the territory, can be considered into a widespread museographical system that does not stop at simple commemoration but becomes an active and performative space, able to propose new forms of transmission of difficult memories. This happens in line with the transformations recorded in the evolution of the forms of memorialization from the postwar period to today, where monuments and mausoleums are replaced by networks and parks museum more closely related to local territories and communities. The aim of the work is to investigate and possibly propose new modalities of story that does not stop at the commemoration of the events but they are promoters of reconciliation activities among places and people, able to help to re-elaborate the trauma connected to the memories on which you operate.

Abstract
The aim of the work is to investigate and possibly propose new modalities of story that does not stop at the commemoration of the events but they are promoters of reconciliation activities among places and people, able to help to re-elaborate the trauma connected to the memories on which you operate.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
