Biomass gasification is in the forefront of technology and it's very promising. It offers higher efficiencies than combustion, with a low environmental impact. In this work an Aspen Plus model was developed to simulate a 200kW double-stage gasifier for syngas production from forestal residues. This model is composed by a prediction model for biomass pyrolysis products and an Aspen Plus model of the entire plant. The model has been validated and the obtained syngas composition is in very good agreement with published data. The efficiency of the plant and the cold gas efficiency were evaluated and important operating parameters such as pyrolysis products, pyrolysis temperature, gasification temperature, biomass moisture and syngas exausted temperature were variated. It has been observed that biomass moisture and gasification temperature had the most significant impact on syngas composition and efficiency.

The efficiency of the plant and the cold gas efficiency were evaluated and important operating parameters such as pyrolysis products, pyrolysis temperature, gasification temperature, biomass moisture and syngas exausted temperature were variated. It has been observed that biomass moisture and gasification temperature had the most significant impact on syngas composition and efficiency.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
