The purpose of this Master Thesis is to explore the applicability of Mass Customization (MC) in an Engineer-To-Order (ETO) environment. To achieve this scope the transition to MC has been investigated at three different levels: strategic, tactical and operational. At the strategic level, challenges and benefits for ETO Mass Customizers have been investigated, basing on a structured scientific approach. At the tactical level, the most fitting model for the deployment of MC capabilities has been identified and applied to different ETO firms as case studies. Eventually, at the operational level, an analytical model to support ETO Mass Customizers in the core activity of Solution Space Development (SSD) has been generated.

Abstract
The purpose of this Master Thesis is to explore the applicability of Mass Customization (MC) in an Engineer-To-Order (ETO) environment. To achieve this scope the transition to MC has been investigated at three different levels: strategic, tactical and operational. At the strategic level, challenges and benefits for ETO Mass Customizers have been investigated, basing on a structured scientific approach. At the tactical level, the most fitting model for the deployment of MC capabilities has been identified and applied to different ETO firms as case studies. Eventually, at the operational level, an analytical model to support ETO Mass Customizers in the core activity of Solution Space Development (SSD) has been generated.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
