Kozde. On embers. A new cooking way of Turkish coffee

Drinking coffee at breakfast, after lunch or in the afternoon. Alone or with friends. To relax or enjoy your time with people. Accompany to your book, to your pleasure times.. Coffee can be the major phenomenon of a daily life? Looking at all over the worlds’ habits is it possible to remove coffee from our vital life? In existing market are there all possibilities that meet the desire of our coffee pleasure? As a coffee lover, asking to myself all of these questions pushed me to make a design project about coffee to possess a satisfied product. My work has started with the love of coffee and product development by a diversity research of kitchen appliances, new technologies, new and creative ideas, and putting them all together to create a new product. This thesis is generated to describe the process of project design at the end of master in Design & Engineering. Thesis of project contains a diverse research part and by these investigations it is created a new project in the manner of a good quality industrial product development. The aim of this thesis is to create a new industrial product to cook Turkish coffee in domestic use. In order to create an innovative product it has to be made a great research. In the first part, the research has been done about coffee culture of all the world, traditions and daily rituals around world and especially in Turkey, customer need investigation in main population and new technologies that is used recently on several kinds of industrial products that inspire me to create the concept. Furthermore, a new concept development has been done about Turkish coffee cooking on embers. The name of the designed product is “Kozde” which means in Turkish “On Embers”. As technical equipment, halogen tube heating system and ceramic embers are used for heat transfer and new materials for the main body of the cooking unit in order to fulfill the functional and aesthetical needs. As a designer, I try to keep the minimalism in all products of projects or from the use of my daily life. Therefore the results of my work stand on between a product with an authentic minimal character and complex technologic product.

Bere caffè alla colazione, dopo pranzo o nel pomeriggio. Da sola o con gli amici. Per rilassare o godere il tempo con gli amici. Per accompagnare al tuo libro, per tuo tempo piacere. Caffè potrebbe essere un fenomeno della nostra vita quotidiana? É possibile di rimuovere dalla nostra vita vitale guardando ai tutti abitudini del mondo? Sono esisti tutti caratteri dei prodotti che soddisfano nostri piacere di caffè? Chiedendomi tutte queste domande, come una amante di caffè, mi è spinto a fare un progetto di caffè per possedere un prodotto soddisfatto. Mio lavoro è cominciato con l’amore del caffè e è continuato con lo sviluppo del prodotto con i contributi della ricerca ampia sui elettrodomestici, sulle nuove tecnologie, sulle idee nuove e creative e mettere tutto insieme per creare un nuovo prodotto. Questa tesi è generata per descrivere i processi di design prodotto alla fine sessione del Laurea Magistrale in Design & Engineering. La tesi progettuale contiene una parte ricerca partendo da un concept progettuale e una seconda parte progetto di sviluppo prodotto industriale. Obiettivo di questa tesi era creare un nuvo prodotto industriale per cucinare caffè Turco per l’uso domestico. Per sviluppare un prodotto innovativo si deve fare una grande ricerca. Nella prima parte, una ricerca è stata fatta sul caffè e cultura del caffè al mondo, tradizioni, rituali quotidiani del mondo e sopratutto in Turchia, investigazione sui bisogni del utente nel popolazione principale e le tecnologie nuove che si usa recentemente ai prodotti industriali dei diversi campi. Inoltre, un nuovo concept è stata sviluppato di cucinare Caffè Turco sulle brace. Il nome del prodotto è “Kozde” che significa “sulle brace” in Turco. Come attrezzatura tecnica si è usato tubi alogeni per la sistema di riscaldamento e le brace ceramiche per trasferimendo del calore. É stato fatto l’analisi per decidere i materiali del corpo principale del prodotto con cui si doveva soddisfare i bisogni funzionali ed estetici. Personalmente, come un designer, provo spesso di mantenere il minimalismo dei prodotti sia dei progetti sia del uso quotidiano. Perciò il risultato del mio lavoro è uscita tra un prodotto con il carattere autentico minimale e un prodotto tecnologico complesso.
