The number of the vehicles produced, together with their variations in terms of engines and set-up options, is growing exponentially in these years. In the case of BMW, the cars are all identified by numbers and letters typically placed on the back surface of the luggage van. As a result, we need to identify a way to standardize the process of positioning these characters, in compliance with style, technical and construction requirements. Given the importance that BMW has always given to the numeration and denomination of each vehicle, it is essential to develop a virtual model that facilitates the evaluation of the characters’ positioning and that results useful for the final application on product development. This work aims at developing a better and faster process by identifying and optimizing issues through analysis.

Abstract
The number of the vehicles produced, together with their variations in terms of engines and set-up options, is growing exponentially in these years. In the case of BMW, the cars are all identified by numbers and letters typically placed on the back surface of the luggage van. As a result, we need to identify a way to standardize the process of positioning these characters, in compliance with style, technical and construction requirements. Given the importance that BMW has always given to the numeration and denomination of each vehicle, it is essential to develop a virtual model that facilitates the evaluation of the characters’ positioning and that results useful for the final application on product development. This work aims at developing a better and faster process by identifying and optimizing issues through analysis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
