The project area has 1 km long waterfront promenade which was a train track built by russians, stretching from sibelius hall at north to Lahti University of Applied Science/Jumping towers at south. It links important points such as student residence, renzo piano cafe, market square, old train station which is now a cafe, lanu sculpture park and pikku vesijärvi park. The site presents a great opportunity to create a new focus of activity that would better connect north to south. As a new node of activity, Lahti harbour will need to provide space for visitors and residents. After understanding what already exist, the result will clear out the way the site responds and interacts with the adjacencies. The city awaits for the waterfront identity it deserves and the site becomes a node henceforth instead of the current in between status it has.

Abstract
The city awaits for the waterfront identity it deserves and the site becomes a node henceforth instead of the current in between status it has.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
