The causal alignment model : alignment assessment in the luxury shoes and leather goods industry

The major scope of this research is investigating on the causal relations, which link the market side of the considered sector (Luxury Shoes and Leather Goods) and its requirements (the luxury CSFs) with the more practical view of the operations (SC practices) that allow a luxury firm to attend the market objectives. Therefore, we developed a model that is up to highlight each causal relation among the different objectives (CSFs and SC objectives) and the processes and, subsequently, the supply chain practices, which impact on them: the Causal Alignment Model. We complete our analysis with the evaluation of the global alignment of the companies, operating in the considered sector, based on the practices that they implement in order to achieve their objectives. Through this approach, we could identify for each company, which are the most critical areas, which also represent the priority for the performance improvement.

Il principale obiettivo di questa ricerca è quello di indagare sulle relazioni causali che collegano la parte a valle del settore considerato (Calzature e Pelletteria di lusso) e le sue esigenze (FCS di lusso) con la visione più pratica delle operations (pratiche di SC) che consentono alle aziende di raggiungere gli obiettivi di mercato. Pertanto abbiamo sviluppato un modello che evidenzi ogni relazione causale tra i diversi obiettivi (FCS e obiettivi SC) e i processi e, successivamente, le pratiche di supply chain che hanno un impatto su di essi: il Causal Alignment Model. Completiamo la nostra analisi con la valutazione dell'allineamento globale delle aziende operanti nel settore considerato sulla base delle pratiche che esse implementano per raggiungere i loro obiettivi. Attraverso questo approccio individuiamo per ciascuna azienda quali sono le aree più critiche che rappresentano anche la priorità d'azione per il miglioramento delle prestazioni.
