Biogas production through anaerobic digestion, although it is already a mature technology, needs further study about process modelling, identification of the main parameters and plant control and optimization. This work will deal mainly on the issue of parametric identification applied to different model choices. First of all, chapter 1 presents what anaerobic digestion is, explaining what are the advantages and the drawbacks it offers. The main steps of the process are then shown. Chapter 2 argues about the impossibility of obtaining one model suitable for every possible aim; therefore it shows the two most studied and exploited model choices. AMOCO, concise and compact, is suitable for plant control and monitoring; another version of this model is provided, too. ADM1 is more complex, but also more detailed; it is suitable for an accurate simulation of the digestion process. Chapter 3 deals with identification of the model parameters. Section 3.2 notably recalls the latest developments about identification of ADM1 model, while the rest of the chapter focuses on the identification of AMOCO model through a preliminary reduction to LFT form. Finally, chapter 4 proposes the application of a new paradigm, known as Two Stages, to ADM1 identification. However, tests show that it does not lead to good results yet.

Abstract
However, tests show that it does not lead to good results yet.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
