What distinguishes the island of Lanzarote is undoubtedly its geological structure, its purely volcanic origin. Much of the land was formed following the historic eruptions of Timanfaya, occurred between 1730 and 1736 occupying a quarter of the island's surface. The violent volcanic nature and semi-desert conditions bioclimatic characterized the particular configuration of landscape to which man has had to adapt. All this has meant that the natural landscape and humanized Lanzarote present a series of original and deeply creative characteristics. Along with volcanic flows, coexist singular land used for crops that maximize the geo climatic production conditions. Then we can recognize two contact landscapes each other, completely opposite and not related: first, rock formed by the solidification of volcanic lava that does not allow the proliferation of life and is called "primitive"; the second, agricultural buried by volcanic ashes which have increased its fertility making it "productive." The theme of the dissertation research is to succeed in the dialogue between two landscapes looking for the interaction in the "middle landscape" that goes to interpose between them without overlapping, by imposing an interference between the rock and ash materials. The architecture becomes a discourse between landscapes becoming an integral part of the place that hosts it, a dialogue between past and future.

Abstract
The architecture becomes a discourse between landscapes becoming an integral part of the place that hosts it, a dialogue between past and future.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
