Ring city. A realistic utopian Beijing

The 40-year continuous expansion of Beijing led to a series of problems. For example, on the macro level, people had to suffer from long commuting and high housing price, and on the middle level, the city of Beijing was simply defined and separated by fences. The manifesto of the Ring City just tries to give one possibility to reverse the vicious circle-- keeping eye on renewing the old urban center but not endless urban sprawl. The Ring City is imagined as a high-rise and high-density urban area around the ancient city with buildings linked and mix-used everywhere. Meanwhile, a win-win solution is conceived as a methodology to guide the design-- the victory of the authority and the revelry of the civilian.

La continua espansione di 40 anni di Pechino ha portato a una serie di problemi. Ad esempio, a livello macro, le persone dovevano soffrire di lunghi pendolari e alti prezzi delle abitazioni, e al livello medio, la città di Pechino era semplicemente definita e separata da recinzioni.
