Pamplona Alta, one of the poorest neighbourhoods in Lima, Peru, is stated in the district of San Juan de Miraflores. 30 years ago, this area has encountered the construction of in-equality, shame and inferiority which was built under the influence of an association of neighbours from Las Casuarinas. This construction certainly known as Wall of Shame which stands 3 meter in height, made of concrete and crowned with reels of barbed wires marking, this time, the difference along the class lines rather than ethic lines. The difference between the rich and poor side are strikingly noticeable where the rich side, Santiago de Surco divided from San Juan de Miraflores. Surco has cameras and guards for security with houses stretching over 1000 m2, encompassing pools, lush gardens and cheap water piped straight to their houses. On the other hand, the residents of San Juan de Miraflores often becomes victims to theft and robbery, they live in the houses of just 25 m2 constructed out of scrap materials surrounded by sand. Despite being inaccessible to fresh running water they are being obliged to pay for water to be delivered by trucks. This indicates that Lima’s Wall of Shame and the artwork of constructing barriers as a significant example of Socio-economic contrasts and indignant division. San Juan de Miraflores, 47.1% of the entire population are Children and teens. Therefore, the function of the area is accompanied by sports and School facilities to acquire basic knowledge and an initiative for the co-development of two areas in the future. The design was performed in a way to give chance to the residents of San Juan de Miraflores to feel the superiority by designing another wall of 15 m height, which will be the Wall of Pride in a way to penetrate the Wall of Shame to give the residents an access to have a panoramic sea view through 3.7 m glass panel to give the people the freedom to view without restrictions and invading the security, safety and peace of the Surco residents as per their claim. Thus, while bearing in mind San Juan de Miraflores as the motive for the basis of the design, however also the needs of Surco was considered by respecting their claim.
Pamplona Alta, uno dei quartieri più poveri di Lima, in Perù, è dichiarata nel distretto di San Juan de Miraflores. 30 anni fa, questa zona ha incontrato la costruzione della disuguaglianza, della vergogna e dell'inferiorità che è stata costruita sotto l'influenza di un'associazione di vicini di Las Casuarinas. Nonostante siano inaccessibili all'acqua corrente fresca, sono obbligati a pagare affinché l'acqua venga consegnata dai camion. Ciò indica che il Muro della vergogna di Lima e l'opera d'arte di costruzione di barriere come esempio significativo di contrasti socio-economici e divisione indignata. San Juan de Miraflores, il 47,1% dell'intera popolazione è costituito da bambini e ragazzi.
