In recent years, the risk of terrorist attacks based on the use of chemical warfare agents (CWAs) has increased, thus requiring new systems for prevention and detection of these agents. In this thesis a set up based on Raman spectroscopy is exploited, in particular, the coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) technique is implemented in the Fourier transform version(FT-CARS). To implement this technique, ultra-short pulses are required, thus a pulse generation stage, based on Ytterbium, is presented too.

Abstract
In recent years, the risk of terrorist attacks based on the use of chemical warfare agents (CWAs) has increased, thus requiring new systems for prevention and detection of these agents. In this thesis a set up based on Raman spectroscopy is exploited, in particular, the coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) technique is implemented in the Fourier transform version(FT-CARS). To implement this technique, ultra-short pulses are required, thus a pulse generation stage, based on Ytterbium, is presented too.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
