The project brings together several ecomuseums in the region through the themes of sustainability, local food and wine specialties, which are narrated with a focus on local heritage and distributed through the Wikipedia platforms. After an analysis of the project, its strengths and weaknesses, a series of design solutions (visual identity, communicative artifacts and tools for participation) were developed to support and expand the initiative, which allows the communities, and people in general, to know the project and to take an active part in it.

Abstract
The concept of ecomuseum was born in France in the 70’s thanks to Georges-Henri Rivière and Hugues de Varine, who firstly experimented in this field. In the last years, this type of experience has been revitalized and is undergoing a new phase of development thanks to the re-discover of the core values that characterize it, in particular the participation in the project of the communities living in the ecomuseum itself. In the past, the ecomuseums could be considered as incubators and areas of experimentation for new ways to manage the territory and to manage the community could happen. Today they must become institutions capable of effectively putting into practice the current and consolidated territorial and cultural strategies applied globally, becoming places for sharing and active participation. A new perspective of interdisciplinarity and networking emerged during the Forum of Ecomuseums and Community Museums, in the context of the 24th General ICOM Conference held in Milano in 2016. The design disciplines and the competences connected to them should be involved in the new practices siding the ecomuseum project, because by defining strategies, guidelines and tools they would contribute to involving people to preserve, plan and develop the territory. The purpose of this thesis is to experiment with these aspects through the “Paesaggi sostenibili del cibo” project, conceived by the Lombardy region ecomuseums’ network. The project brings together several ecomuseums in the region through the themes of sustainability, local food and wine specialties, which are narrated with a focus on local heritage and distributed through the Wikipedia platforms. After an analysis of the project, its strengths and weaknesses, a series of design solutions (visual identity, communicative artifacts and tools for participation) were developed to support and expand the initiative, which allows the communities, and people in general, to know the project and to take an active part in it.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
