MAMe. Riqualificazione del nodo di interscambio di Milano Rogoredo

The thesis deals with the role of infrastructural poles of the contemporary metropolis, where mobility represents one of the main forms to inhabit the territory. The infrastructural landscape is often able to tell the relationship between individuals and the city in a much more emblematic way than those landscapes that are traditionally considered as representative for the identity of the place, as well as the common history of its inhabitants. The reinterpretation of the infrastructures according to the social and cultural meaning of the public space becomes fundamental to redefine the sense of belonging of a place neglected by temporariness of its use. The proposed design, conceived from the environmental, economic and social point of view, consist in the rehabilitation of a strategical infrastructural node (Milano Rogoredo) as an attractive centre and a representative public space in the surrounding urban system, with the aim to generate surplus value able to fund public interventions of reconnection with the territory and the milanese rural context.

La tesi affronta il ruolo dei nodi infrastrutturali nella metropoli contemporanea, dove la mobilità rappresenta una delle forme predominanti di abitare il territorio. Il paesaggio delle infrastrutture è spesso in grado di raccontare la relazione tra individui e città in maniera più emblematica rispetto ai paesaggi tradizionalmente intesi come rappresentativi dell’identità del luogo e della storia condivisa dei suoi abitanti. Reinterpretare le infrastrutture secondo il significato culturale e sociale di spazio pubblico diventa fondamentale per ricostituire un sentimento di appartenenza al luogo ormai ridotto alla temporaneità del suo utilizzo. Il progetto proposto, concepito dal punto di vista ambientale, economico e sociale, consiste nella riqualificazione di un nodo infrastrutturale strategico (Milano Rogoredo) come centro attrattivo e spazio pubblico di riferimento del sistema urbano circostante in grado di generare un plusvalore che possa finanziare interventi pubblici di riconnessione al territorio e alla realtà agricola milanese.
