This work is related to the new research area called pHRI (Physical Human Robot Interaction), which aims to establish a natural interaction between robots and humans. In particular, it tackles the development, simulation and experimental validation of a collision avoidance system for an industrial manipulator based on laser distance sensor Time Of Flight (TOF). This system creates a “virtual wall” around every object in the operating space. When the robot enters the virtual wall, an impedance control modifies the reference position in order to avoid the impact with the object approached. First, the dynamic parameters of the considered manipulator have been identified, then these parameters have been used for the development of a simulator on which the anti-collision control has been tuned. The validation of the control system has been performed through several experiments on an industrial robot, in a configuration where the TOF sensor is mounted on top of the end-effector of the manipulator.

Abstract
The validation of the control system has been performed through several experiments on an industrial robot, in a configuration where the TOF sensor is mounted on top of the end-effector of the manipulator.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
