Abstract
The thesis, investigating and analyzing the world of videogames and esport, propose a metadesign model about requalification of many "leftovers" that distinguish our cities. In particular, abandoned cinemas will be used as examples. The aim is to reuse the already-existing building heritage in order to create a showpiece regarding the gaming world, competitions and streaming. Cinemas are therefore redesigned as places aimed for these purposes, where people can find services and equipment necessary to broadcast various contents. This space, characterized by appropriately designed "boxes", can be used both by gamers and, in general, by professionists who need small independent and private stations where working and creating custom contents. Following an important digression of preliminary research that covers and deepens several issues, from the genesis of video games to eSport, from decay to reuse, up to Milan's cinemas history, we proceed with the definition of the metadesign model, highlighting the guidelines that were then applied to the context of the cinema taken into account to show the final results, in order to integrate and accomplish the path established.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
