The mega event such as Olympics, has become the most indispensable part of daily life. On the one hand, the city considers it as an opportunity to develop. In the name of the event, the local market would thrive, multiple urban infrastructures would build, and so on. It could benefit urban development. On the other hand, ordinary people enjoy the activity. It could directly increase public happiness. However, hosting an event is never easy. The host city faces diverse difficulties relating to its diverse historical background. The Olympics as the most significant mega event in human history also faces the above problems. Relating to history, in different periods, hosting the Olympics has been associated with financial stress, political conflicts, wars, sustainability request, and so on. As time goes by, the list would be longer. With the development of the Olympics, the role of temporary facilities is becoming gradually important. In this design research, the temporary application in the Olympics is the focal point to discuss. At first, similar events would be researched about their temporary proposal. It would inspire the further design part. Then, we would study the relationship between the Olympics and temporary application. It is valuable to dig into the potential of the Olympics by doing history research. Then, we focus on Paris, the target city of the project. Through researching the existing proposal for Paris 2024, we decide to design a temporary proposal from the perspective of visitors and citizens rather than governments and athletes. In this way, we believe it could promote the Olympic spirit to more people. Eventually, through our design research, we discuss the potential of temporary applications in hosting mega-events. Moreover, we consider it would be the new trend for urban development.
Il mega evento come le Olimpiadi, è diventato la parte più indispensabile della vita quotidiana. Da un lato, la città la considera un'opportunità di sviluppo. In nome dell'evento, il mercato locale prospererebbe, costruirebbero molteplici infrastrutture urbane e così via. Potrebbe favorire lo sviluppo urbano. D'altra parte, la gente comune gode dell'attività. Potrebbe aumentare direttamente la felicità pubblica. Tuttavia, ospitare un evento non è mai facile. La città ospitante deve affrontare diverse difficoltà legate al suo diverso background storico. Anche le Olimpiadi, in quanto mega evento più significativo della storia umana, devono affrontare i problemi di cui sopra. Relativamente alla storia, in periodi diversi, ospitare le Olimpiadi è stato associato a stress finanziario, conflitti politici, guerre, richieste di sostenibilità e così via.
