Schwamendingen: un progetto che collega il quartiere

Schwamendingen is a district located on the northern outskirts of Zurich. Due to the frequent exceeding of air and noise pollution limits by a major motorway artery that runs through the neighbourhood, the municipality is implementing a motorway encapsulation project that would solve these problems, but at the same time accentuate the fracture in Schwamendingen’s urban fabric. The thesis project would solve these problems by means of three basic elements: a cycle/pedestrian path with green spaces; ramps and stairs that punctually connect the path to the edges of the urban fabric; and residential and tertiary towers located along the path.

Schwamendingen è un quartiere situato nella periferia nord di Zurigo. Per via del frequente superamento dei limiti di inquinamento atmosferico e acustico di un importante arteria autostradale che attraversa il quartiere, il comune sta realizzando un intervento di incapsulamento dell’autostrada che risolva tali problemi, ma al contempo accentua la frattura nel tessuto urbano di Schwamendingen. Il Progetto oggetto di tesi risolverebbe questi problemi attraverso tre elementi fondamentali: un percorso ciclopedonale con spazi verdi; rampe e scale che puntualmente collegano il percorso ai lembi di tessuto urbano; torri residenziali e adibite a settore terziario che si dislocano lungo il percorso.
