Modern architecture has undergone a shift in understanding and implementation, creating paradoxical uniqueness resulting in a contradictory uniformity of difference. Cities have become collages of chaotic contradictions, where the desire to impress overshadows the thought of belonging in space. Architecture today prioritizes spectacle, material impressiveness, and visual dominance over human comfort and spatial dialogue. This scenographic language alienates the dweller, transforming him into a passive spectator within an overcrowded architectural theatre. Critical regionalism emerged as a response to this homogenizing effect of modernist architecture and its lack of cultural identity. Architecture must be tactile, moral, and rooted in the body, felt through movement and emotion. The primitive hut becomes origin of such thought: the purest form of dwelling, born of necessity, material, and territory, embodying seclusion, comfort, and timeless belonging. In its simplicity lies an existential dialogue between human and nature, where every branch and wall responds to its environment. The hut stands not as an aesthetic gesture but as reflection of human existence—rational, contextual, and deeply rooted in memory and place. Even among ruins, the primitive hut reappears, resilient and humble, recalling the essence of dwelling, a timeless archetype. In the valley of Passo San Giacomo the project emerges where the Wagristoratore by Portaluppi once merged modernity with wilderness, restoring the forgotten bond between architecture, territory, and the act of dwelling. Perhaps true revolution in architecture is silence and touch, where walls build comfort, light carves emotion, and space restores the harmony between human and home.
L’architettura moderna ha subito un cambiamento nella sua comprensione e nella sua applicazione, generando un’unicità paradossale che produce una contraddittoria uniformità della differenza. Le città sono diventate collage di contraddizioni caotiche, dove il desiderio di impressionare prevale sul pensiero dell’appartenenza allo spazio. Oggi l’architettura privilegia lo spettacolo, l’imponenza materiale e la dominanza visiva rispetto al comfort umano e al dialogo spaziale. Il regionalismo critico è emerso come risposta a questo effetto omogeneizzante dell’architettura modernista e alla sua mancanza di identità culturale. L’architettura deve essere tattile, morale e radicata nel corpo, percepita attraverso il movimento e l’emozione.La capanna primitiva diventa l’origine di tale pensiero: la forma più pura dell’abitare, nata dalla necessità, dal materiale e dal territorio, che incarna isolamento, conforto e appartenenza senza tempo. Nella sua semplicità risiede un dialogo esistenziale tra l’uomo e la natura, dove ogni ramo e ogni muro rispondono al proprio ambiente.La capanna non si erge come gesto estetico, ma come riflessione sull’esistenza umana — razionale, contestuale e profondamente radicata nella memoria e nel luogo. Anche tra le rovine, la capanna primitiva riappare, resiliente e umile, richiamando l’essenza dell’abitare, un archetipo senza tempo.Nella valle del Passo San Giacomo il progetto prende forma laddove il Wagristoratore di Portaluppi un tempo fuse modernità e natura selvaggia, ristabilendo il legame dimenticato tra architettura, territorio e atto dell’abitare.Forse la vera rivoluzione in architettura è il silenzio e il tatto, dove i muri costruiscono conforto, la luce scolpisce emozione e lo spazio restituisce l’armonia tra l’uomo e la sua casa.
