Green for life. Recupero e riqualificazione dell'area Pratogrande Garlate

In 2009-2010 the public notification "Retrain Garlate - Pratogrande Area" is announced by the company Pratogrande Ltd. in collaboration with the City of Garlate and the Polo Regionale di Lecco of Politecnico di Milano. The purpose of the call is to enhance and improve the area Pratogrande (which is both public and private) through the renovation and refurbishing of the sport facilities, and to create a center that is at the forefront for sports, fitness and health. In this thesis a renovation, refurbishing and enlargement plan of the Centre Pratogrande in Garlate is present. In particular, the project deals with the renovation, upgrading and enlargement of existing buildings in order to create a synergy between the structures and to improve both aesthetics and technology. The main theme of the project is nature, which becomes part of the project. The plan of the thesis is the following. An urban analysis and planning is presented togheter with the analysis of anomalies. Then the general description of the masterplan of the project area and the renovation of existing structures are presented. Finally the core of the thesis, the swimming pool center, is presented. The design of the swimming center involves three types of intervention: renovation, refurbishing and expansion. As for the renovation, special care has been paid to the energy performance of the structures; the refurbishing involves the replacement of the existing roof with a grass layer; the enlargement defines new spaces and new routes in order to achieve spatial -functional improvements. The engineering section of the thesis deals with sizing of the new steel cover for the existing outdoor pool. As for the sizing of facilities, particular attention has been paid to energy saving and environmental comfort by introducing systems such as: underfloor heating, air handling units and condensing boilers.

Nell’anno 2009 - 2010 viene indetto il bando di concorso “Riqualificare Garlate – Area Pratogrande” dalla società Pratogrande s.r.l. in collaborazione con il comune di Garlate e dal Polo Regionale di Lecco del Politecnico di Milano. L’obiettivo del bando è di valorizzare l’area Pratogrande (di competenza sia pubblica che privata) attraverso il recupero e la rifunzionalizzazione delle strutture sportive, e di realizzare un centro che sia all’avanguardia per attività sportive, benessere e salute. In questa tesi presentiamo un progetto di recupero, riqualificazione e ampliamento del Centro Pratogrande a Garlate. In particolare, il progetto si occupa del recupero, della riqualificazione e dell’ampliamento degli edifici esistenti, al fine di creare una sinergia tra le strutture e di migliorare l’aspetto sia estetico che tecnologico. La tematica preminente del progetto è la natura, che ne diventa parte integrante. Il piano della tesi è il seguente. Dapprima vengono presentate le analisi urbanistiche e le analisi di rilievo con l’individuazione delle anomalie presenti. Si procede poi con la descrizione del masterplan generale dell’area di progetto e della rifunzionalizzazione delle strutture. Infine, si giunge al cuore della tesi: il centro natatorio. Il progetto del centro natatorio prevede tre tipi di intervento: recupero, riqualificazione e ampliamento. Per quanto riguarda il recupero si è prestata particolare attenzione al risparmio energetico con le scelte prestazionali; la riqualificazione prevede la sostituzione della copertura esistente con un manto verde naturale; l’ampliamento definisce nuovi spazi e nuovi percorsi, al fine di conseguire un miglioramento spaziale - funzionale. La sezione ingegneristica dell’elaborato affronta il dimensionamento della nuova struttura in acciaio che copre la piscina esterna esistente. Per quanto riguarda il dimensionamento degli impianti, si è prestata particolare attenzione al risparmio energetico e al comfort ambientale introducendo sistemi quali pannelli radianti, unità trattamento aria e caldaia a condensazione.
