Abstract
In the design of machine tools is very important to know the damping, since the dissipation of energy sources plays a fundamental role in terms of performance of the machine. The schematizations adopted for the simulation of mechanical systems are characterized by three values: mass, stiffness and damping. In a numerical simulation, the data that distinguish mass and stiffness are easily detectable while the values, which characterize the damping, are accompanied by large errors. In order to improve the understanding of the phenomenon this thesis has been addressed to the analysis of damping in linear guides with preloaded recirculating roller, specifically from the viewpoint of energy dissipation. The treatment has been developed through the prefiguration of experiments in the laboratory accompanied by experimental tests on the machines. The final step has been to determine some FEM models they can emulate the carriage sufficiently precise, solving the many problems that arise from the FEM simulations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
