Trio. Paraschiena urbano flessibile

Goal of this study is the evaluation and understanding of the dynamic crashes in­volving motor bikes, their causes and, social and personal consequences. Besides the compa­rison between protection devices actually available on the market and the real needs of the users, having as final purpose the design of a new back protection device able to satisfy either the safety requirements and the usability and aesthetical needs of the users. The preliminary study is using statistical data updated to 2011, deriving from national and international researches, completed by a custom made questionnaire aimed at defining the real needs of bikes users. Target of the project, that has been designed” for” and “around” the user itself, are the “city” users and consequently is addressing to their specific needs. The needs of scooters and “city” users have been translated into project features aimed at satisfying the common requirements such as: comfort, expressed as flexibility, lightness and breathableness, usability and visual communication. A significant part of the study has been dedicated to the choice of materials and to the auxetic pattern that are the real fulcrum of the design of the concept here presented.

Oggetto di questo elaborato è la comprensione delle dinamiche degli incidenti motociclistici, delle cause che li determinano e delle conseguenze a livello personale e sociale, il confronto dell’offerta di dispositivi di protezione presente sul mercato, con le reali esigenze di chi utilizza le due ruote per i propri spostamenti, con lo scopo di sviluppare e proporre un dispositivo di protezione della schiena in grado di soddisfare i requisiti progettuali in termini di protezione, usabilità e valenza estetica. La ricerca preliminare si avvale di dati statistici aggiornati al 2011 estratti da indagini a livello nazionale ed internazionale, accompagnati da un questionario appositamente realizzato per l’individuazione dei reali bisogni degli utenti che fanno uso delle due ruote. Il progetto, elaborato “per” ed “intorno” all’utente, si rivolge a motociclisti di tipo cittadino e vuole rispondere alle differenti esigenze degli appartenenti a tale categoria. I bisogni dei ciclomotoristi sono stati tradotti in caratteristiche di progetto tese a soddisfare le esigenze comuni in termini di: comfort, espresso come flessibilità, leggerezza e traspirabilità; usabilità e comunicazione visiva. Un approfondito studio è stato realizzato riguardo ai materiali ed alle strutture auxetiche, vero e proprio fulcro di progettazione per il concept proposto.
