This is the thesis for the Degree course in Interior Design at the Politecnico di Milano, whose theme is the design of a structure for the village of Castiglione Olona, in the province of Varese. The story starts with an introduction to the theme of hospitality and its evolution over time, become no longer practical necessity of the trip but essential form of pleasure to live with intensity, an experiential journey. Places that trigger off actions that put people at ease and determine social growth and experiential, enriching the environment. It is implemented as a result of a research in the specific evolution of accommodation and how these spaces decree the new meeting places, what was the literary cafés in which philosophers, artists, and businessmen met and exploited the context to make new relationships. The hospitality not only as a mere offer of accommodation or services, but a place to start relationships. For this reason, was carried out a search on case studies of accommodation that can accommodate more functions internally, interconnected, thus characterizing an aspect of the multi-purpose hospitality spaces. And across the case studies of interventions on the existing, with works by refunctionalization of existing structures. From the collection of these design ideas and consciousness of the need to equip the Renaissance town of accommodation was born the idea of P4 Hotel. A hybrid between Design Hotel and Hostel where enable social and cultural relations. The project is situated on XV century building in the historic center of the village, carrying only a re-use of it, without interfering substantially on the original structure. The project thus provides an internal rearrangement of work environments by adding fittings completely reversible. The concept behind the project is to implement a link between tradition dates thickness cultural and artistic renaissance village and innovation carried out by the important Castiglione company producing plastics, Mazzucchelli. This connection is formally expressed by a tongue, a tape that covers all areas and linking the various functions and services offered by the hotel. The architecture has been conceived as a “container”, a white box, soft colors, and to act as a character is plastic, with its colors and applications.The various environments are then described in detail classify by services and therefore welcome, refreshment, relax, work, accommodation through the development of plans, elevations, sections, and render the interior that allow you to display the spatial distribution, the use of materials and colors of the project.
La tesi di Laurea Specialistica per il corso di Interior Design del Politecnico di Milano il cui tema è la progettazione di una struttura ricettiva per il borgo di Castiglione Olona, in provincia di Varese. La tesi parte da un introduzione sul tema dell’ospitalità e la sua evoluzione nel tempo, diventata ormai non più necessità pratica imprescindibile del viaggio ma forma di piacere da vivere con intensità, un viaggio esperenziale. Luoghi che innescano azioni che mettono a proprio agio gli individui e che determinano una crescita sociale e esperenziale, arricchendo il territorio. Si è attuata in seguito una ricerca nello specifico sull’evoluzione delle strutture ricettive e di come questi spazi decretano i nuovi luoghi di incontro, quello che prima era i caffè letterari in cui filosofi, artisti, e uomini d’affari si incontravano e sfruttavano il contesto per stringere nuove relazioni. La struttura ricettiva quindi non solo come una mera offerta di alloggio o di servizi ma un luogo dove innescare relazioni umane. Per questo motivo si è poi svolta una ricerca sui casi studio di strutture ricettive che accolgono più funzioni al proprio interno, interconnesse tra loro, caratterizzando cosi un aspetto polivalente degli spazi dell’ospitalità. E dall’altra parte casi studio di interventi sull’esistente, con opere di rifunzionalizzazione di preesistenze. Dalla raccolta di questi spunti progettuali e dalla coscienza della necessità di dotare il borgo rinascimentale di una struttura ricettiva nasce l’idea del P4 Hotel. Un ibrido tra Design hotel e Ostello dove attivare relazioni sociali e culturali. L’intervento si colloca su edificio del XV secolo nel centro storico del borgo, attuando esclusivamente una rifunzionalizzazione di esso, senza intervenire sostanzialmente sulla struttura originaria. ll progetto prevede dunque una ridisposizione interna degli ambienti tramite opera di aggiunta di allestimenti completamente reversibili. Il concept di base del progetto è quello di attuare un legame tra la tradizione data dallo spessore culturale e artistico del borgo rinascimentale e l’innovazione portata avanti dall’importante azienda castiglionese produttrice di materie plastiche, la Mazzucchelli. Questa connessione è espressa formalmente da un lingua, un nastro che percorre tutti gli spazi e collega le varie funzioni e servizi offerti dall’hotel. L’architettura è quindi pensata come un “contenitore” , una white box, dai colori tenui, e a fare da protagonista è la plastica, con i suoi colori e applicazioni. I vari ambienti vengono poi descritti nel dettaglio suddividendoli per servizi offerti e dunque accoglienza, ristoro, relax, lavoro, pernottamento attraverso l’elaborazione di piante, prospetti , sezioni e render degli interni che permettono di visualizzare la distribuzione spaziale, l’utilizzo dei materiali e dei colori di progetto.
