La sicurezza al fuoco nei teatri storici. Adeguamento delle opere strutturali alla normativa antincendio

In Europe - and Italy in particular - there is an important cultural heritage of historic theaters of priceless architectural and artistic interest that is worth being preserved. The redevelopment project should be guided by a deep knowledge of the architectural structures and by the interest in preserving the historic and artistic values which are evidence of the ancient art of building that should be preserved rather than distorted. The present study aims to define a consistent and repeatable guideline s for the restoration and conservation of theatres due to the fact that no laws, regulations or codes of practice have been implemented hitherto/so far. (nowadays there are no laws, regulations or codes of practice governing these types of project sin Italy). The object of the study is Fire Safety in "Italian style" theatres, one of the most common structures in our country, which should be dealt in terms of public safety as well as preservation of cultural and historical heritage. The redevelopment project should represent the optimal synthesis between the need for security and the wish of preservation rather than a simple compromise between the two and above all it should stem from a deep knowledge of the structure on which the intervention will be planned. (does not have to be a compromise between the need for security and the need of preservation but it should represent the optimal synthesis, and above all has to come from the real knowledge of the object on which you are going to intervene). The present study will focus on the following aspects: - History and development of fire safety practice in theaters and analysis of specific cases of fires in Italy and in Europe. - Analysis of the type of construction of the "Italian style" Theatre: history and architectural features. - Objectives of the security plans and method of approach. - Overview of the Italian legislation concerning places of public entertainment. - Analysis of the recurrent security issues in the theaters, the applicability of the rules and criteria for intervention. - Presentation of the "Italian style" Theatres which have been examined. - Application of the method of intervention to specific cases and in particular on the requirements for fire resistance of structures.

In Europa e in Italia in particolare è presente un patrimonio di teatri storici di inestimabile valore architettonico e artistico che deve essere conservato. Il loro progetto di riqualificazione deve passare attraverso una conoscenza puntuale del bene architettonico e attraverso il rispetto del valore storico e artistico del bene, testimonianza di un'antica arte del costruire che va preservata e non stravolta. La tesi vuole definire delle linee guida omogenee e ripetibili per gli interventi di recupero e conservazione visto che, a tutt'oggi, non esistono leggi, norme o codici di pratica che regolino questi tipi di interventi progettuali in Italia. L'oggetto di studio è la sicurezza antincendio nei Teatri all'Italiana, una delle strutture tipologicamente più diffuse nel nostro paese, che presentano un problema di salvaguardia dell'incolumità pubblica, oltre che di conservazione del patrimonio storico-culturale. Il progetto di riqualificazione non deve rappresentare solo un compromesso tra le esigenze di sicurezza e conservazione, ma deve costituirne la sintesi ottimale e soprattutto deve scaturire dalla conoscenza reale dell'oggetto su cui si andrà ad intervenire. La tesi si sviluppa intorno ai seguenti punti: - Storia dell'evoluzione della sicurezza antincendio nei teatri fino alla situazione attuale e analisi di casi specifici di incendi in Italia e in Europa. - Analisi della tipologia costruttiva del Teatro all'Italiana: storia della sua nascita e caratteristiche architettoniche. - Obiettivi della sicurezza e metodo di approccio. - Studio della normativa italiana in materia di locali di pubblico spettacolo. - Analisi delle problematiche ricorrenti nei teatri, applicabilità della regola tecnica e criteri di intervento. - Presentazione dei Teatri all'Italiana oggetto di studio. - Applicazione del metodo di intervento ai casi specifici e in particolare sul requisito di resistenza al fuoco delle strutture.
