Un sistema basato sul riconoscimento visivo per il supporto alla valutazione neuromotoria

A child whose functional learning prerequisites are not sufficiently developed is identified as suffering from Learning Disability and encounters many difficulties in school and needs an educational support. This lack of development comes from an inadequate sensory stimulation in the years of the child neuro-sensory-motor maturation (within the first 6 years of life). One of the most effective responses to the problem is to give compensatory sensory stimulation to the children. To this purpose the association “Movi-Mente ASD” was born: it offers courses in which participants follow a precise protocol of neuromotor work. An integral part of the protocol is the Neuromotor Rating which, through a proper evaluation of the subjects, has the purpose of understanding the level of development of the functional prerequisites to learning. The goal of this thesis is to demonstrate, through the implementation of a working prototype, that it is possible to develop and implement an automated system that helps the educators in the neuromotor rating.

Un bambino i cui prerequisiti funzionali all’apprendimento non siano sufficientemente sviluppati viene identificato come affetto da Disturbi Specifici dell’Apprendimento e incontra numerose difficoltà nell’ambito scolastico, avendo così bisogno di un sostegno educativo. Questo mancato sviluppo deriva da una non sufficiente stimolazione sensoriale negli anni della maturazione senso-neuro-motoria del bambino (cioè entro i primi 6 anni di vita). Una tra le risposte più efficaci al problema si è dimostrata essere la somministrazione di stimoli sensoriali compensativi. A questo scopo è nata l’associazione “Movi-Mente ASD” che propone agli iscritti un preciso protocollo di lavoro neuromotorio. Parte integrante del protocollo è il Profilo di Valutazione Neuromotoria che, tramite una vera e propria valutazione dei soggetti, serve a comprendere i livelli di sviluppo dei prerequisiti funzionali all’apprendimento. L’obiettivo di questa tesi è quello di dimostrare, tramite l’implementazione di un prototipo funzionante, che è possibile lo sviluppo e la realizzazione di un sistema automatico in grado di supportare gli educatori nella valutazione neuromotoria.
