Transformation of an existing abandoned warehouse to an office building

Recently, the reuse of abandoned industrial zones is receiving considerable attention, especially by national institutions due to its importance in urban transformation, historical and heritage preservation, and economic aspects. The thesis is focused on the transformation of an abandoned industrial site to an office building in the Pero district. In the introduction, the history and urban transformation of the Pero district have been studied. Subsequently, some case studies are provided to show their strategies toward reuse and regeneration of the abandoned buildings. The case studies are classified in terms of their design approach and type of interventions. Moreover, passive design methodology and Passivhaus principles have been studied. Finally, the documentation and drawings of the conducted project are provided.

Negli ultimi decenni, la riqualificazione delle aree industriali dismesse sta ricevendo una notevole attenzione, soprattutto da parte delle istituzioni nazionali a causa della sua importanza nella trasformazione urbana, conservazione storica e del patrimonio e per aspetti economici. L’obbiettivo della tesi è quello di trasformare un edificio industriale abbandonato a Pero in un ufficio. Nel capitolo introduttivo sono stati studiati la storia e la trasformazione urbana del comune di Pero. Successivamente, vengono forniti alcuni casi studio per mostrare le loro strategie per il riutilizzo e la riqualificazione degli edifici dismesse. I casi studio sono classificati in base al loro approccio progettuale e al tipo di interventi. in seguito sono stati studiati la metodologia di progettazione passiva e i principi di Passivhaus. Infine, vengono forniti la documentazione e i disegni del progetto.
