The former Tobacco Station in Ljubuški is understood as a structure shaped by its past, now existing in an underused and fragmented condition. This thesis explores its reactivation through adaptive transformation as a continuation of its spatial, material, and lived layers. Architecture is approached as a catalyst, as it sets the ground where life unfolds. What was once a space of storage and production is transformed into a space of encounter, learning, and shared life, now open to the citizens. The programme introduces cultural, educational, and productive uses, including exhibition spaces, public stage, workshops, community facilities, and spaces for local initiatives and small-scale production. Through a layered reading of the site, from memory to urban relations and material conditions, the project reveals what has been silenced but not lost. The design operates across the entire complex, connecting individual buildings into a coherent system where each intervention assembles fragments into a heterogeneous whole. These architectural gestures establish a clear spatial structure while remaining adaptable through use. Between matter and memory, the Tobacco Station emerges as a structure open to transformation. A new layer evolves from what already exists, shaping future use while allowing previous layers to remain present.

Abstract
A new layer evolves from what already exists, shaping future use while allowing previous layers to remain present.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
