The coastal environment has always represented an important territorial resource for human population. But the attitude towards the coast evolved through time: it went from being a weak element you need to defend to “object of desire”. The phenomenon of mass tourism started a new way of living and conceiving the coast, which led man to over urbanize these areas regardless of the future environmental consequences. The desire to get as close as possible to the coast line allowed a prevarication of the anthropic elements over the natural ones, causing a deep deterioration of the marine ecosystem. The Marine of Lecce is a good example of a territory where it is evident the conflict between man work and nature and therefore it was chosen as casy study for this work. The paper focuses on the analysis of the peculiarities and critical issues of this area, which is currently in degraded conditions. The issue of future sea level rise was also taken into consideration as an element that will aggravate the current situation. The aim is to present a new coastal landscape with a new tourist-bathing structures that will allow people to enjoy the benefits of spending time on the coast without damaging its naturalistic aspect, thus obtaining a balanced coexistence between artifice and nature.

Abstract
The aim is to present a new coastal landscape with a new tourist-bathing structures that will allow people to enjoy the benefits of spending time on the coast without damaging its naturalistic aspect, thus obtaining a balanced coexistence between artifice and nature.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
