A new scene for Bologna, intended as a space for action and relationship between people and things. In a historical moment in which the values of sociality and sharing are being rediscovered, the thesis proposes to imagine a place that is representative of Bologna's collective identity and that at the same time can reactivate a space that is as important historically as it is forgotten by the contemporary world: the Montagnola, a hill of rubble that emerged from the centuries-long clashes between popular forces and papal authority, which became the city's first public park. Here the project is grafted as an extension to the Cineteca di Bologna, Europe's leading cultural institution for film restoration, which promotes the knowledge and preservation of cinema and the city's memory. Cinema thus becomes an expedient through which to reconstruct sociality and above all memory, a space in which moving images, words and bodies converge. The choice of the theme is based not only on the concrete necessity of the Cineteca to enclose its vast archives and restoration activities in a single, versatile and visitable system, but also on the history of the place itself. In fact, the hill rises in an area that has always been the object of massive transformations and where the main urban interventions between the 19th and 20th centuries took place: it is not by chance that the first film distribution companies and the main cinemas and theaters of the last century were located here. A project that, through a position that is not so much radical in its forms as in its choices of urban grafting, offers itself as a possibility for the future of cinema and marginal areas maintaining that essential relationship of continuity with the history of the place.

Abstract
A project that, through a position that is not so much radical in its forms as in its choices of urban grafting, offers itself as a possibility for the future of cinema and marginal areas maintaining that essential relationship of continuity with the history of the place.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
