The masterplan project developed in the city of Salerno insists on a lot situated in the south-east area of the city, called "Picarielli". This area represents a strategic point of passage for the city, connecting the center with the suburbs and the sea with the hill. Furthermore, also from an infrastructural point of view, it is located in a central position where, to the north we find the ring road that connects the city in its entirety, and to the south there is the railway network that also acts as a light rail with the “Torrione” metro stop. The points from which we started for the development of the project are linked to the peculiarities and problems present in this nodal area between many realities that characterize the city of Salerno. The design objective is to develop a piece of intelligent city consistent with the economic, social and territorial features of the urban environment, and to enhance its strengths, addressing the lacks of this urban reality, by inserting it into a perspective of sustainable and inclusive development, which can be able relate to national and international scenarios.
