The project is part of the Reinventing Cities competition announced by the Municipality of Milan and promoted by C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group together with the support of Climate KIC, in which national and international entities can participate. The competition includes around 100 globally influential cities that are committed to fight climate change and are active in seeking and achieving a better outcome for the future in terms of resilience and sustainability. The latest edition is called “Reinventing Home” and focuses on the topic of living, which aims to guarantee access to a home for all citizens through the design of buildings with rents at controlled prices. The purpose of the announcement is to create Social Residential Building (SRB) for rent and sale in the Zama- Solomone area, guaranteeing a functional and social mix that allows a fitting into a consolidated and socially active context and at the same time introduces innovative and efficient technological solutions, considering the 17 Global Goals of UE. Therefore, the objective was to fit into an area that has a strong pre-existence, such as the complex of “white houses”, with the desire to design a space of union and integration that involves citizens in every aspect, both from the point of view of the activities that take place in it and from the point of view of the public spaces. Hence the idea of creating a residential complex divided into four volumes which re-establish a balance within the lot and the neighborhood itself, as a filter of the relationship between the pre-existing structures and the numerous green areas, such as the Guido Galli park, the residential complex of the “white houses” and the park near the project area. The attention in the design of both the external spaces of the urban context and the internal spaces of the buildings was fundamental in order to regain a place where relationships can be mended and where citizens can feel fully integrated. In parallel with this research, the project also focuses on the introduction of technologies and solutions that aim to give answers to the problems of the climate change and energy saving, topics extremely significant to which extreme attention must necessarily be paid to act accordingly.

Abstract
In parallel with this research, the project also focuses on the introduction of technologies and solutions that aim to give answers to the problems of the climate change and energy saving, topics extremely significant to which extreme attention must necessarily be paid to act accordingly.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
